Clear Lens Extraction (CLE) or Refractive Lens Exchange (RLE)

The CLE/RLE procedure is virtually the same as for the removal of cataracts. The proceudre involves the implantation of an intraocular lens to replace the natural lens. The only difference is that the natural lens being replaced by the CLE/RLE procedure is clear, while a cataract lens is cloudy.   This may be the procedure of choice for patients with high degrees of farsightedness, and may also be appropriate for certain other patients depending on age and personal factors.

• A pair of reading glasses is sometimes necessary for
  small print
• Haloes and glare are usually not seen at night with this lens selection.

 

Restor®

• The Restor® IOL is a unique technological innovation that can provide quality vision for near, intermediate and distance vision by combining the strengths of apodized diffractive and refractive technologies.

The Restor® IOL is indicated for patients who desire the following:

• Excellent distance vision
• Excellent reading vision
• Designed for heavy readers
• May need a slight prescription for intermediate tasks
• Some glare and haloes at night.

 

Rezoom™

• The ReZoom(TM) IOL is a multifocal intraocular lens.   Unlike traditional single-vision lens implants, the ReZoom(TM) lens provides quality vision both at a distance and up close.   Traditional single-vision lenses usually provide good vision only at a distance with limited ability to see objects that are near without glasses.

The ReZoom(TM) IOL is designed or indicated for patients who desire the following:

• Independence from glasses after Cataract Surgery
• Excellent distance and intermediate vision
• May need reading glasses for very small print usually not required for normal activities
• Some glare and haloes may be experienced at night.
